Great Zanskar Trek
 TRIP NAME: GREAT ZANSKAR TREK

DAY 01: ARRIVAL DELHI
Upon arrival meet to our representative, transfer to hotel, for rest of the night.

DAY 02: DELHI-KALKA-NALAGARH: 
Early in the morning transfer to New Delhi railway station, board train to Kalka, ETD 0655 hrs. on arrival at Kalka meet to our local guide, transfer to Nalagarh. Rest of the time visit surround the village and one temple over the hill, Overnight at heritage hotel.

DAY 03: NALAGARH-MANALI, 1980M, 8-9 HRS DRIVE: 
Morning drive to Manali via Bilaspur, Sundernagar and Kullu valley. On arrival check in hotel. Rest of the time leisure.

DAY 04: MANALI:
After breakfast full day local sightseeing visit Naggar Castle, Roerich Art Gallery, Vashist hot spring, & Hadimba Temple and local market. Overngiht at hotel. 
            
DAY 05: MANALI- JISPA-DARCHA (3350M) OVER ROHATANG PASS (3990M) 
Morning drive along the Beas river upstream long the true left bank through the several villages to the Rohtang pass (3990m).Down hill drive to the Gramphu and and passport check point at Koksar. Reach Keylong the tribal dist. headquarter, En route visit Keylong market and Khardang Gompa. Overnight hotel or guest house at Jispa or Darcha.

DAY 06: JISPA OR DARCHA- PALAMO (3600M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
First day of trek. After 30 minutes walk check post is established, visit the tinny hamlet and continue high over the Zanskar Chhu river through the last village of the valley (Rarick and Chhika) After few hour walk camp site is visible on the right side of the Zanskar Chhu (river). Overnight in camp

DAY 07: PALAMO - ZANSKAR SUMDO (3950M) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
Gradual walk through the boulders and meadows; shepherds from the Kangra valley can be seen with their flocks. Easy stream crossing. Camping site are available both side of the river. Overngiht at camp.

DAY 08: ZANSKAR SUMDO- CHHUMIK NAKPO (4550M) 7-8 HRS TREK: 
Day begin with Short climbing upward the Shingola along with tributary of Zanskar chhu, After while gradual walk in the narrow valley through meadows of wild flowers, campsite on the foot of Shingola where night gleams by the snowy mountains. Overngiht at camp.

DAY 09: CHHUMIK NAKPO-LAHKANG (4300M) OVER SHINGO LA(5090 m)7-8HRS TREK: 
Path leads over moraines, ice chilled stream may have to crossed, over snow and glacier, suddenly prayer flags can be seen flattering over the pass. Descend to the Zanskar valley, before arriving at campsite one have to wad through Kargyak Chhu, beautiful campsite on the bank of Lhakhang Chhu. Overnight camp.

DAY 10: LHAKHANG - KARGYAK (4060 M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
Easy trek beside the right bank of Kargyak Chhu and foot of the Gumboranjom (5900M) tower, a chilled stream has to cross. an opportunity to see closely the herds of yaks, Marmots are whistling around the meadow and plays hide and seek. Long series of Mane wall and Chhorten are a symbol to reach Kargyak village, It houses a small gompa on the top of village

DAY 11: KARGYAK - PURNI (3800 m) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
The trail goes through Tanze, Kuru, Testa and Yal. Villages Farmer can be seen cultivating their fields with melodious song of Zanskar. Reached Purni, situated on the confluence of the Tsarap and Kargyak Chhu, Overnight camp.

DAY 12: PURNI -PHUKTAL GOMPA - PURNI: 
Afer breakfast commence 6 hrs up-down trek. Visit Phuktal and back to Camp at Purni. Phuktal belongs to the tradition of the Gelugpas (Yellow hats). The spring that gurgle deep in the cave is still out of bound to the women. Overnight camp.

DAY 13: PURNI - PIPULA (3600M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
Back till bridge, and follow the confluence and continue by the left bank of Tserap river to Cha, Surley till Pipula situated on the bank of river. Overngiht camp. 

DAY 14: PIPULA - ICHAR-RARU (3700 m) 5-6 HRS TREK:
Again sunny trail beside the river, Photogenic Ichhar village located opposite of the trail, visit the village and gompa at the top of village, after short distance camp site is located beside the lake where people stock the water for irrigation. Overngiht camp.

DAY 15: RARU - PADUM (3670M) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
Leave early in the morning, en route visit Mune and Bardan Gompa, a Kagyupa monastery is famous for its prayer wheel. Reached Padum administrative headquarter of Zanskar sub-division of Kargil distt .Overnight camp.

DAY 16: PADUM- RINAM (3550M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
From Padum head toward Karsha Monastery, a beautiful Gelugpa monastery dating from the XVth century, in common with the Likkir gompa in Leh and Kamoling Gompa, camp site at Rinam out of the village. Overnight camp.

DAY 17: RINAM - ZANGLA-PISHU (3400M) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
After breakfast commece the easy trek beside the Zanskar river, visit Zangla village a ancient capital of Zanskar, ruin of castle and Nunery can be visited, small gompa in the village in family house shifted from the old fort houses some old Thanka and statues. After visiting this village back to the beautiful camp site of Pishu.

DAY 18: PISHU - MANUMUR (3550M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
Moranic track leading up and down, Crossing a bridge over stream. Colorful Chorten appear before arriving in the village, explore the Pidmo village. 2 hours walk till campsite of Hanumil.

DAY 19: HANUMIR- SNERTSE (4200M) OVER PARFILA (3900 m) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
Trail goes through cliffy track, gradual climb to the Parfila, Steep zig zag descend to the riverside and refresh yourself beside the river under Willow shrub. Again dusty and sunny trail will leads to the campsite, Occasionally One can see the Ibex (Mountain goat) grazing on the slope in front of camp

DAY 20: SNERTSE - LINGSHED (3800M) OVER HANUMALA (4700M)7-8 HRS TREK:  
Gradual ascend through gorges,later valley get widen. Reached at the top provide extensive view of the rugged Himalayan mountains layered one after one. Long descend to the Lingshed . establish the camp and visit monastery of (Gelugpa sect).

DAY 21: LINGSHED- YULCHUNG (4500M) 6-7 HRS TREK: 
Trek starts over Murgum la (4100M). One hour easy climb to the Murgumla, enjoy the view around, easy descend along the slope to the beautiful Nieraq valley, After passing Gongma and Skiumpata villages steep ascent to the Kubadash-la (3800M) and easy walk to the campsite.

DAY 22: YULCHUNG -PHUTOSKAR (3750 m) OVER SINGEY LA (5050M) 7-8 HRS TREK: 
Two hours to reach at the top of SingeY la (5050M).short descend to the broad valley, herds of Yak can be seen, Several time river crossing, later reached at Phutoksar a Splended village at the base of a huge mountain wall. Campsite out of the village.

DAY 23: PHUTOKSAR - HANUPATA (3500M).6-7 HRS TREK: 
After breakfast easy walk in Beginning and after steep climb take you to the Sirsila (4900M) Descend to the river bank, farmers can be seen cultivating in their fields ( Peas and Barley etc.) Camp site located before the village on the bank of stream.

DAY 24: HANUPATA-WANLAH (3300M) 5-6 HRS TREK: 
Trek Across the village, steep gorgeous path cut in to the rocks, getting out from the gorge and arrive Franjila village. Pleasant walk through the villages till wanla, Monastery can be visited a top of the hill. night in camp

DAY 25: WANLAH - LAMAYURU OVER PRIKTI LA (3750M)-BASGO LOCAL HOUSE: 
After breakfast start the trek follow the river up to the Shilla village, later divert to right way, follow a narrow gorge, till the Pritink la (3800M). End of the trek at Lamayur. Where your jeep wait for you.... later drive to Basgo (2hrs drive) enjoy the local food with local cusin, with Ladakhi family. Overnight at Local House.

DAY 26: BASGO- LEH (01 HRS DRIVE)
Morning drive to Leh en route visit Phyang and Spitik Gompa, on arrival chek in hotel rest of the time leisure for relax and wash up. Overngiht at hotel.

DAY 27: LEH : 
Full day monastery visit as Shey, Thiksey, Hemis and Stok Palace, overnight at hotel.

DAY 28: LEH: 
Full day leisure for individual activities. Overngiht at hotel.

DAY 29: LEH-DELHI
Morning transfer to airport, take flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi meet to our representative, follow the Half day New Delhi sightseeing. Late evening fare well dinner and in time departure transfer to International airport.

Foreigners can climb mountain peaks in India after obtaining the required clearances.
